QA Engineer

Position: QA Engineer

Location: Cambridge, MA

Opportunity: CoreStreet’s product line is growing as we continue to innovate and bring new products to market based on our patented technology. We are seeking a talented and energetic engineer to assist with quality assurance efforts across our product line.

CoreStreet’s credential validation software provides secure authorization and validation for connected and intermittently connected environments. Combining security, safety, and convenience, CoreStreet enables organizations to grant or revoke an individual’s access rights to buildings, computer networks, laptops, and other devices in real time.

Primary Responsibilities
- Design test procedures for exercising product functionality
- Evaluate test automation tools and develop automated test scripts
- Assist with scoping and planning of QA and product release cycles
- Assess testing requirements such as platforms and databases
- Execute test cycle to verify product functionality and stability against requirements
- Maintain and enhance the QA process to ensure a high level of consistency and quality in the product release cycle

Minimum Required Skills and Experience
- Three to five years experience writing and executing QA tests in the software industry
- Solid understanding of software technologies, e.g. relational databases and object oriented languages such as Java, C#, and C++
- Basic familiarity with Windows and Linux environments is required, familiarity with Solaris would be a plus
- Experience testing both thin (web-based) and thick (native Windows application) clients is required. Must be comfortable using command line interfaces to drive server-side testing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

In addition, experience with the following would be an advantage:
- Test automation tools
- Internationalization and local language testing
