CoreStreet Releases Validation Client

Empowers Government, Financial Services and Global 1000 Companies with Secure, Scalable Applications Such as Email, Instant Messaging and Document Signing

San Francisco - RSA Conference (February 24, 2004)

CoreStreet, a leading provider of validation solutions for identity management and access control, today announced the availability of its Validation Client, an Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) compatible plug-in that enables government agencies, financial services institutions and Global 1000 companies to validate digital signatures on all forms of secure communications, including documents, emails and instant messages.

“Validation of enterprise applications like secure email and document signing is a vital part of every large organization’s critical infrastructure,” according to Phil Libin, president and co-founder of CoreStreet. “Our customers and prospects expressed the need for a scalable and cost-effective alternative to help them increase productivity and comply with new regulations such as HIPAA, Sarbanes–Oxley, USA PATRIOT and Basel II. CoreStreet’s Validation Client makes possible the broad rollout of many types of existing secure applications that meet these new requirements.”

“International and domestic regulation is making it a requirement for government entities, global enterprises and financial services organizations to secure their online communications,” said Scott Crawford, senior analyst with Enterprise Management Associates. “Up until now, securing every communication just wasn't feasible or cost effective. CoreStreet's Validation Client adapts proven standards to an innovative, highly scalable architecture that will enable the validation and authentication of a wide range of information, from email to instant messaging.”

The CoreStreet Validation Client works with any software that is compatible with widely adopted industry standards. For example, when used with Microsoft Outlook for email, the Validation Client confirms that the identity of the sender of an email is authentic, and automatically determines if certificates are still valid and have not been revoked. This last step is crucial for protecting against disgruntled insiders and once-valid individuals who have since been revoked. Extending beyond secure email, CoreStreet’s Validation Client can also be used for secure instant messaging, viewing signed documents and logging on to computers and networks.

The CoreStreet Validation Client, when used with CoreStreet’s Real Time Credential Validation Authority (RTC VA), provides the ultimate in high performance validation systems, one that is capable of validating digital signatures from anywhere in the world, in a small fraction of a second. In addition, CoreStreet’s RTC VA is a more secure and cost-effective solution than other validation solutions on the market today. The CoreStreet Validation Client lowers maintenance and support costs over the lifetime of a deployment. Using the CoreStreet Validation Client’s pre-configured, easy-to-use installation, users require no individual technical support to facilitate an enterprise-wide rollout.

Pricing and Availability

The CoreStreet Validation Client is available immediately. The plug-in supports Windows 2000, Windows XP and older versions such as Windows 98 and Windows 95. CoreStreet’s Validation Client 1.0 is compatible with all major validation authorities currently on the market and is currently compatible with Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP). In the future, the Validation Client will also support additional validation technologies such as CoreStreet’s MiniCRL. Thirty day evaluations of the Validation Client 1.0 are available upon request. Pricing varies based on the size of the deployment and licenses purchased.
