Corestreet Demonstrates Keyfast™ Technology and Products
Emerging Technologies to Be Shown at ASIS Show
Dallas, TX (ASIS Show, September 27-30, 2004)
CoreStreet, a leading provider of validation solutions for identity management and access control, today announced the company will demonstrate its technology and products in the 'Emerging Technologies' kiosk at the Software House booth #3550 at ASIS 2004 in Dallas, September 27 - 30, 2004. Software House is part of Tyco Fire & Security's Access Control and Video Systems business unit.
"CoreStreet's innovative and powerful KeyFast technology is a good example of the 'Emerging Technologies' being developed to enable cost-effective, physical security in locations never before secured," said Paul J. Piccolomini, vice president of research and development for Tyco Fire & Security's Access Control and Video Systems. "We're pleased to work with CoreStreet to give ASIS attendees the opportunity to take a look at such up-and-coming technology."
CoreStreet's KeyFast technology brings the security advances of the information age - digital signatures, role-based and rule-based access control and decentralized computation - to the world of physical access control, paving the way for a more unified approach to physical and logical security. To do this, the technology extends central access control to unwired doors and mobile locks enabling access control customers to dramatically increase the number of doors secured with the system.
The use of strong cryptography allows the system to perform both authentication - are you who you say you are? - and authorization - are you allowed to be doing what you are trying to do? - without requiring secure communications to a trusted server at the point of each transaction. This enables the system to secure physical access points in completely disconnected environments. Future technology will deliver comprehensive management of all the aspects of an entire organization's security function, from physical buildings to virtual networks.
"Our KeyFast technology brings identity management into the real world, which will ultimately make security management more effective," said , president of CoreStreet. "We are excited to demonstrate this innovative solution and get valuable feedback from the industry-savvy attendees at this year's ASIS."
CoreStreet has created a demonstration using KeyFast with Software House's C.CURE 800/8000, a scalable security management solution encompassing complete access control and advanced event monitoring. Together, the products show physical and logical access, enabling security to be extended to disconnected KeyFast TM Access Control Units (ACUs) that are locally installed at a drastically reduced cost. The result is a more inherently secure organization.
