CoreStreet Offers First Distributed OCSP To Receive Common Criteria Certification
National Information Assurance Partnership Certifies Real Time Credential Validation 4.0
Adelphi, MD (Federal Information Assurance Conference, October 26, 2004)
Today, CoreStreet, a leading provider of validation solutions for identity management and access control, was presented the world's first Common Criteria Certificate for distributed OCSP by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP).
The NIAP, formed from a partnership between the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the National Security Agency (NSA), combines the extensive IT security experience of both agencies to promote the development of technically sound security requirements for IT products and systems and measures for evaluating those products and systems.
"Receiving the world's first certification for a distributed OCSP offering is further proof of our commitment to developing innovative security solutions for our federal defense and civilian agency clients," said CoreStreet Chief Security Officer Dr. Bob Dulude, who received the award today on behalf of CoreStreet at the Federal Information Assurance Conference. "NIAP's rigorous evaluation assures those in government as well those in the private sector that the solution they're considering meets the highest security standards."
CoreStreet's RTC VA, the world's first distributed OCSP product, is the industry's most secure, massively scalable and cost-effective Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) system for validating digital certificates. Unlike traditional OCSP technologies, which require a permanent, secure connection to validate certificates, the RTC VA can be deployed at the edge of a network, enabling validation of certificates quickly and easily without establishing a costly secure connection back to a central server.
The CoreStreet RTC VA 4.0 manages all PKI deployments, including applications such as secure email and signed documents, and is fully compatible with current security standards, including X.509 digital certificates and OCSP validation protocols. It enables security administrators to revoke an individual's access rights in real time, in any environment, connected or disconnected, and is being deployed by government agencies and private sector organizations to bridge the gap between logical and physical environments.
An organization already using PKI products can typically plug in the RTC VA without making any changes to their existing infrastructure. For more information about the RTC VA and the Common Criteria certification please visit this page
