CoreStreet and Entrust Announce a Technology Alliance to Extend Security Solutions for Government, Healthcare and Financial Institution Customers
CoreStreet Joins Entrust TrustedPartner Program as a Technology Partner
Cambridge, MA - (June 23, 2004)
CoreStreet, a leading provider of validation solutions for identity management and access control, and Entrust, Inc. [Nasdaq: ENTU], a world-leading provider of Identity and Access Management solutions, today announced a global alliance to deliver highly scalable, secure and cost-effective security products and services intended for organizations in the government, healthcare and the financial services industries. This agreement is under the auspices of the Entrust TrustedPartner Program.
As a Technology Partner, CoreStreet is taking a vital step in order for selected products and solutions to achieve Entrust Ready™ status. The Entrust Ready designation is awarded by Entrust and refers to products and services that have been reviewed for compatibility and interoperability with Entrust products. Under the TrustedPartner agreement, Entrust makes its software available and provides integration guidance in order to help a Technology Partner’s offering fulfill the Entrust Ready requirements.
CoreStreet intends to perform integration testing for its flagship OCSP credential validation offering, Real Time Credential Validation Authority ( RTC VA ), for use with Entrust Digital IDs to provide an alternate method of certificate validation, using an approach called Distributed OCSP. Distributed OCSP is based on the centralized (potentially offline) pre-generation of signed validation proofs for Entrust certificates that can be published through an extremely scalable network of lightweight, unsecured Responders (OCSP client to RTC VA go-betweens) to reduce certificate validation request latency.
“Entrust customers are recognizing the need to strongly authenticate users to laptops and workstations in order to address privacy and information security governance requirements,” said Eric Skinner, vice president, Secure Data Solutions, Entrust. "With CoreStreet’s unique digital certificate validation technology and Entrust’s strong authentication capabilities, customers will be better able to simplify their processes for validating digital certificates in order to provide secure access control. We are pleased to welcome CoreStreet into the TrustedPartner Program and look forward to successful deployment of the combined solution.”
“In numerous industries, including government, healthcare and financial services, adding the validation layer to the access control equation will make digital and physical locations more secure,” according to , president of CoreStreet.“ We are pleased to be working with Entrust to create products that enable strong authentication and credential validation for secure access by individuals, whether that be to a computer network or to a physical location.”
