Corestreet Releases OCSP Server Validation Extension For Microsoft Internet Information Server
Release Part of a Series of Validation Extensions for the Most Popular Application Servers
CAMBRIDGE, MA (August 24, 2004)
CoreStreet Ltd. today made available its Server Validation Extension for Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS), a product that can enable real-time validation for applications distributed on IIS. The Server Validation Extension for IIS is an Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) compatible plug-in that is designed to enable government agencies, financial services institutions and Global 1000 companies to validate digital signatures in real time on a variety of applications, including those relating to procurement, financial services and human resources, among others.
The latest release is part of an initiative by CoreStreet to provide validation extensions for the most popular application servers on the market. CoreStreet, a leader in providing massively scalable validation products for identity management and access control, had previously released a version of the Server Validation Extension for BEA WebLogic; others will continue to roll out in the coming months.
"OCSP has proven effective when it comes to securing Web applications, but it has not been widely available to developers. We at CoreStreet want to make OCSP work in a variety of situations," said , president of CoreStreet. "Our goal is to provide a suite of services that can enable scaleable, cost-effective validation so companies can create applications that comply with regulations such as HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley, USA PATRIOT and Basel II."
Designed to Work with Industry Standards
The CoreStreet Server Validation Extension for IIS is designed to work with any software that is compatible with widely-adopted industry standards and is designed to validate users of Web applications. When a person accesses a secure application, the Server Validation Extension can confirm the identity of the user and automatically determine the validity of certificates. The introduction of an OCSP Server Validation Extension for IIS can help enable application developers to add an additional layer of security to service-oriented applications created and distributed on the Microsoft IIS platform.
The CoreStreet Server Validation Extension for IIS, when used with CoreStreet's Real Time Credential Validation Authority (RTC VA), is designed to provide the ultimate in high performance validation systems, one that is capable of validating digital signatures from anywhere in the world, in a fraction of a second. In addition, CoreStreet's RTC VA is designed to be a more secure and cost-effective solution than other validation solutions on the market today. The CoreStreet Server Validation Extension can help lower maintenance and support costs over the lifetime of a deployment, is pre-configured, easy-to-install and requires no individual technical support to facilitate an enterprise-wide rollout.
Pricing and Availability
The CoreStreet Server Validation Extension for IIS is available immediately, is compatible with all major validation authorities currently on the market and is compatible with OCSP. In addition, the Server Validation Extension for IIS supports other validation technologies such as CoreStreet's MiniCRL, a new way to transmit certificate revocation information over extremely low bandwidth. Thirty-day evaluations of the Server Validation Extension for IIS are available upon request. Pricing starts at $5,000 per server and decreases based on volume.
